Richard C. Baker offers a full range
of conservation services for books and printed works on paper
and parchment.
Treatments include binding restoration, facsimile binding, box making,
adhesive tape removal, stain reduction, washing, aqueous and non-aqueous
deacidification, lining, mending, and in-painting. Other services include
- lectures, consulting, and hand bookbinding instruction.
The studio maintains full written and photographic documentation in addition
to providing written evaluations and estimates for all work.
For the protection of customers' property, the studio is equipped with
a central station fire and burglary alarm system and a fire proof safe.
$66,000 worth of insurance is maintained on customers' property while
on the premises or in transit.
